A Journey of Rediscovery

Being selected as the class 27th Rotary Peace Fellow is among the best experiences in my life. This program has enabled me to rediscover my passion and appreciation for the field of conflict resolution. Having graduated from MA in Conflict Resolution at University of Bradford in 2005, I was very excited to contribute to peace and conflict resolution field in my country. Nevertheless, I could not find any employment in the field that I love. After several years, I applied to be in higher education. Even though I was disheartened and disappointed, I have continued to seek any opportunities to do peace and conflict resolution works that came my way.

As part of the Peace Fellowship, I have met wonderful colleagues from across the world who are very committed to the Issue of Peace. The fellowship has benefited me greatly. It renews my commitments to the field and times for reflection on how I can contribute to peace. It does not matter whether I have experiences working in the field or not. I already have the necessary skills and conflict analysis tools from my wonderful time at Bradford 15 years ago as well as fascinating speakers and practical knowledge I received from this course. Most importantly, I dedicate my life to be a space where peace through understanding will happen. “Si Vis Pacem Para Pacem- If you want Peace Prepare for Peace”
